We’re Moving Ahead!
At our last board meeting we decided we have enough money pledged on a monthly basis to go ahead with starting something run by volunteers. This is an exciting step for us because it means we are this much closer to opening the doors!
We are still collecting funds – monthly pledges are most needed – to fund hiring a staff person for the centre. Our hope is that getting something in motion using volunteers will help show that this is something our town really needs and bring in the last bit of fundraising that we need.
We have not yet set a start date, but we are hoping to get something going as soon as possible. In the meantime we are finishing up our policy binder and getting job descriptions completed so that we can begin recruiting and training volunteers. We are also going to need help finishing up the reno’s on the King St. house we will be occupying.
If any of these areas of need spark your interest and you would like to help, please contact us!
Donations Online!

We are now able to take donations online through PayPal! This is an exciting development that we hope will help make it easy for people to give to this project. Our goal is for as much of this as possible to be funded directly by our community, for our community, and we hope people will see this project as a worthwhile cause for some of their charitable giving.
PayPal is a well established and secure company for facilitating online transactions, and all donations are tax-deductible. Options are available for people to give either a one-time donation or a recurring monthly donation. PayPal can take donations from a credit card, or can link securely with a person’s bank account to transfer the funds directly.

Location!!!
NEWS, NEWS!!! We have a location for the Youth Centre! It is 11 King Dr. – the old brick house across from the LCBO. It is currently being renovated by the owner – a new roof was just put on and some work is now being done inside (wiring, etc). We will be using the main floor, approx. 1200 square feet. Here is a picture from before the new roof was put on.

Hooray!
